Job Description

We are currently seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technician to help support our growing practice.

This position contributes to the company mission by safely conducting nuclear testing, per ICANL and ARRA Guidelines in a controlled environment.

General Responsibilities

  • Meets Technical Skills Competency consistently

  • Complies with all OSHA and HIPAA policies along with all policies and procedures established by TCC
  • Utilizes AIDET/customer service standards and demonstrates TCC Standards of Behavior

  • Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned

Department Specific Duties

  • Maintain Hot Lab
  • Perform quality control of nuclear equipment, nuclear camera and dose calibrator
  • Survey all incoming shipments of radiopharmaceuticals & Kits– Tc99m, Sestamibi, Thalium 201, Ultra-Tag
  • Check in regular pharmaceuticals – Atropine, Heparin, Aminophylline
  • Fill saline syringes for daily usage
  • Insure proper disposal of Red contaminate bags and sharps container
  • Perform and Process Testing
  • Review the days’ schedule
  • Inform Supervisor and Site Manager of appropriate changes, examples: camera down, physician schedule change
  • Patients escorted to the Nuclear Department in a timely manner
  • Reschedule patient appointments as soon as notified of departmental changes
  • Acquire and process Nuclear data
  • Placing studies in layers for physician interpretation
  • Ensure studies are available for physician to review, in a timely manner
  • Ensure testing is sent to appropriate office personnel

IV and Medication

  • Placement of IV’s for testing
  • Verify, per physician orders, medication to be administered
  • Administer, via syringe and I.V. pump, proper medications for testing

 Department Maintenance

  • Maintain inventory of Nuclear Department supplies
  • Nuclear department cleaned and stocked at end of day

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of medical and/or cardiac terminology
  • Completion of Nuclear Medicine Program & current MRTBE license

Important Notes

This is a PRN position that may require travel between our three East Valley Offices.
