We are currently seeking a Vascular Ultrasound Technician to help support our busy Vein Center.

CONTRIBUTION AND JOB SUMMARY

This position contributes to the company mission by safely conducting Vascular US studies, specifically venous mapping studies and US guided Venous Ablation including lower extremity venous (DVT) studies as ordered by the physician in a controlled environment. This position also assists the physician by performing Cardiac US, Stress Echo, Carotid Duplex, and Contrast Studies as ordered by the physician as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs ultrasound testing (primarily venous mapping and US guided venous ablation procedures) as ordered by the physician
  • Checks physician order and diagnosis in the EHR chart for accuracy and per appropriate use guidelines
  • Performs studies in appropriate time frame as per office and accreditation guidelines
  • Performs accurate measurement of appropriate organ systems as per testing protocols
  • Maintains accuracy in data entry for preliminary and final report. 95% accuracy threshold is required
  • Maintains accuracy in selection of preliminary report statements. 95% accuracy threshold is required
  • Documents charges for studies performed in EHR per guidelines
  • Maintain inventory of supplies
  • Process staff and patient incoming calls, faxes and inquires timely and courteously
  • Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality
  • Attends all mandatory staff meetings
  • Complies with all OSHA and HIPAA policies along with all policies and procedures established by TCC
  • Utilizes AIDET/customer service standards and demonstrates TCC Standards of Behavior
  • Demonstrates behavior that is professional and commensurate with the position and is in accordance to TCC Standards of Behavior
  • Maintains a professional and courteous environment
  • Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality
  • Performs other routine duties as assigned

OBJECTIVE MEASURES

  • Introduces self to patient, fully explains the test/procedure
  • Sends completed testing to appropriate personnel daily
  • Maintains accurate logs of testing performed
  • Cleans and stock work room
  • Cleans filters on US machine as required
  • Adheres to scheduled work and lunch times

Skills / Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required
  • BLS/CPR certification
  • Experience in cardiovascular pathology
